Hey, sweetiepie, welcome. Darn, I guess the waving smilie is on LHC, not here.
I'm nodding my head in sympathy here. Flaking is such an issue for me -- sometimes. I have seborrheic dermatitis (SD) and when it flares up, I bring out the arsenal. I start with Head & Shoulders, the weakest product. It usually doesn't work, but sometimes .... Then I pull out the Nizoral, which brings flaking under control, stops the itching, and usually gives me great results.
I do have some prescription liquid, fluoccinide acetonide, or something like that, that brings it all under control within a day.
I have a shower filter, and routinely give my hair a final rinse of vinegar mixed in water to be sure I get buildup off, and give the scalp the acidity it prefers.
Edited to remove extraneous attempt to post waving smilie

Sorry that I did not added a waving smile! I introduced myself in my post in the skin section. I thought everyone would see it!I am so happy to read your reply !!!!! Wow I did not thought about the vinegar! What type of vinegar do you use? What triggers your SD?? The derm gave me Ala seb prescription strength, and I am just pretty scared to use that on my eyebrows. I have tried Nizoral.... it is pretty drying! Once I added it to my face too! I will never do that again! The smell of Nizoral is soooo terrible I felt like to vomit! Do you get dandruff other places other than your scalp? Thanks so much!!!

I have a case of SD also. I'm not sure what kind of vinegar rinse Raederle uses but what I do is: take 2 tablespoons of AVC(apple cider vinegar) and dilute it into about a liter of water. This makes enough for two rinses for me. Everyone is different though. I suggest playing around with the dilution of the AVC. NEVER use AVC undiluted, it will be way too strong for your hair.
For the record, Nizoral never did a darn thing for me. In fact, most of the stuff that a derm and doc prescribed didn't work for me. Only one perscription lotion did anything and even then it was not something I could use long term.

I get it too! i use a wonderful product called Tgel by Neutrogena. There is an ingredient in it called neutar and it helps to combat dandruff and other scalp problems and it's gentle. Another good one is Head and Shoulders.
