Applying false lashes & strange package
Today I had a set of false lashes mailed to me. I didn't buy them or request any free samples. A couple years ago I used to request free samples online. Mostly beauty stuff but sometimes tea, coffee, ect. I haven't requested anything in a long time and even when I did, I never tried to get false lashes so it's not like they mailed them on a delay like what happens sometimes. Do you think it's possible they got my name and address through those other sites and decided to send me free lashes, hoping I'll buy more or something? Or maybe they're just sending them out to random people? Has anyone else received these lashes? Is it common to get free stuff without requesting it? The sender was "American International" and I don't know who that is. What's even weirder about this is I've been wanting to try false lashes lately. But I swear I didn't order any and then forget about it or something. I didn't tell anyone about wanting them, but still I asked the other house hold members to see if they ordered it and addressed it to me, and they said no.
Now for my application question:
In every youtube tutorial I've seen they say to apply mascara to your real lashes before putting on the false lashes. Is this really necessary? What's the point? And wouldn't that make the real lashes stand out more, in addition to the false so then it looks like you got two sets of lashes? The reason I wanted to try false lashes in the first place is because I'm sick of mascara. I can never get it completely off. Even the non-water proof stuff. Then over the next few days I'll have black smudges and black flakes under my eyes and on my cheeks. Washing off the smudges and flakes in the morning before I go out doesn't help because it also comes off throughout the day and the only way to avoid it would be to keep checking myself and wipe my face down every 10 minutes or so. I also loose a lot of lashes when trying to take off mascara, even though I'm gentle. So I just haven't been wearing it and thought of useing false lashes instead. So can I get away with not putting on mascara before hand? If it matters, my natural lashes are already dark and kinda thick, maybe medium length.
