I like jojoba oil but it always seems to leave me very greasy and I break out if I use it. Anyone use emu oil on the face and have picky skin? I wanted to try it as a moisturizer.

I haven't used it but since it is a animal oil you have to be very careful where they source it and how it is refined. The quality varies greatly.

I second what SunCat says.
Having said that, I will say that I have used it on my face with no problems. FWIW- my face breaks out more now than it ever did when I was a teen/in my twenties.

I've used it. I was using for a little while last winter when I was having some kind sensitivities. I don't recall what brand it was but I found it at a health food store. It seemed to be soothing to my skin. I'd had a reaction to shea butter and aloe.

I agree with SunCat. I ordered a 1/2 oz. from a seller on ebay earlier this year. Texture-wise, it felt a bit like jojoba oil to me (takes a while to absorb into the skin), but I did not enjoy the smell of it, and the fact that mine partially solidified in the bottle. I think the quality of mine was sketchy, but I had no other emu oil to compare it to to be certain. I wouldn't buy it again, because I like other oils better.

I decided to buy some emu oil from a local place. I've always been happy with "made in oklahoma" products. I have nothing to compare it too though. It absorbs well but is a bit on the thicker side compared to other oils I've tried. It has a slight smell but nothing overwhelming that I can't stand.
All in all, I think I am much happier with it. I haven't broken out using it like I did with jojoba. It absorbs well. :) In fact, I've been applying it twice a day (morning and night) and no greasy face EVER.

Emu oil is excellent. I posted a review thread of it in the LHC beauty board. Far better than any other oil I have tried. I have acne but I have not noticed any more breakouts than in the past, actually the anti-inflammatory benefits of it have cleared up my red spots pretty quickly.
