What colors are best for certain seasons? Does it even matter? I have the same question about lipstick colors but maybe I should post that somewhere else ??? Anyway, right now I'm barefoot or wearing sandals most of the time so I want my feet to look nice. I usually wear clear or French manicure on my fingernails (or leave them unpolished).

I seldom wear sandals, so I wear whatever strikes my fancy. Usually, I prefer vivid colors like sapphire blue, emerald green, etc. .

I wear sandals constantly, and I wear all kinds of colours. Red, green, purple, blue, even black. I like to decorate my big toe with a single rhinestone too. I figure, if you're looking at my feet, I may as well give you something to look at besides my bunions ;)

If I had an office job though, I would stick to neutrals, like peach, pink & tan. OPI makes a wonderful colour that I used to wear in my paper-pushind days called Queen of De Nile, which I would describe as a kind of cafe latte sort of colour. It is discontinued, but they have like, 100 colours, so I'm sure they've got something close. Or you can try ebay.... http://cgi.ebay.com/OPI-Queen-of-DNile-VINTAGE-Very-RARE_W0QQitemZ5677450724QQcategoryZ31816QQssPageNa meZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Pricey there, but like I said, they have tons of colours, and they stay like heck! I could let it grow off my toes if I wanted to ;)

Right now my toes are painted blood red. Two weeks ago they were Hot Tamale Orange.

Summer is my favorite toe season. I tend to go with brighter polish colors and pick colors I would never wear on my fingers.

98% of the time I wear Cherry Jubilee, deep dark blue red. If I go have a pedicure, I get french done on my toes.

That was cool about a big rhinestone , I 'll hafta try that.:eureka:

I tend to HATE polish on my fingernails, but I feel almost naked without something on my toes. I don't think anything is neccessarily "inappropriate" when it comes to toes (except maybe moss green, looks sorta "fungusy"). Lately I've been going with pinks, but reds make me feel happy and I'm a sucker for blues or purples :)

I think any and all colours are appropriate for toenails. Mine are currently a sparkly gold, and I plan in painting a pink heart on the middle of my big toe ones when I feel like it.:whoohoo:

I wear whatever polish tickles my fancy that day. If I am in a red mood I wear red, it's the same for pink, green, blue, or any other color that strikes me. I have well over 200 colors:innocent: .

I always wear red just because it makes me giggle and it looks good on my toes. Until summer comes, that is. Then I wear a sort of dusty rose pink, which makes my feet look tan (since they don't tan).

I usually wear one color, Cherry Jubilee, which is a dark burgundy blue red. If I get a pedicure, I have them do my toes-ies in a french. :geek:

I like to use a deep coppery (yet cool-toned) red on my toes. :whoohoo:

for my fingernails and toes ( which are ALWAYS matching lol) I love everything. Red, black, gold, bronze, purple, pink, green. etc. My favourites are black and "tidal wave", which is a topaz bluey metallic awesome colour. It always catches attention.

In the summer I like brighter colors like, hot pink, bright coral, etc. It's so much prettier with sandals or barefoot at the beach. In the winter I tend to do french on my toes or something pale since no one see's my toes. But I never wear red. I don't wear it on my fingernails either. As a blonde, I prefer softer colors.

I don't polish my nails because nothing will ever stick more than a day but I get a pedicure once a month and have french on my toes.

I don't think there is any wrong color for toes. I tend towards light or bright pinks in the summer, but that's just me. (And my toes!)

I am wearing a bright flourescent pink. I like wearing funky colors on my fingernails and toenails! :soppy:

LOL, I don't mind green (although I'm not too sure I've ever painted my toe nails green, but I really don't like yellow for toes. Talk about looking like fungus! I love yellow anywhere else though!

Have you tried the rubbing alcohol trick? If you rub some rubbing alcohol on each nail, right before you are getting ready to apply polish, it helps the polish adhere. Make sure you let it dry and don't touch it. The alcohol cleans off the natural oils on the nail. It helps my polish stay on a lot longer than before I started doing that. Also, OPI is a pretty good brand as far as staying power. I don't polish my nails because nothing will ever stick more than a day but I get a pedicure once a month and have french on my toes.

Hey justy, who makes the Cherry Jubilee? I like blue reds for my toes.

In my opinion, people should wear whatever color toe nail polish or lipstick they fancy, regardless of season. I'm sure the fashion industry would emphatically disagree though.

I'm very conservative where style is concerned, so a flash of red on my toenails gives me a rush. I swear...it's the small things in life...

OPI's "I'm not really a waitress" is my favorite red. Can't/won't wear it on my fingernails, though. ;)

I love pretty colors especially on my toes. I really love the bright colors. I tend to pick things that go well with pink, since I wear a lot of pinks. I don't do much with the browns and tans because I don't wear those colors that much. I wear sandals just about any day the temps are out of the 40s. Love love love sandals. I whine if I have to wear real shoes and socks. My feet need to be free! :whoohoo: I like OPI polishes because they stay on better and I love the names of the colors. I really can't think of any color that wouldn't be appropriate on toes. But that's just me. I'm an anything goes kind of person with things like that.

I'm like Steph - "I'm not really a waitress" has been my favorite for toes for a long time now. I don't wear anything on my fingers, though. I do so much cooking/housework that it would be futile.

I tend to wear red in the colder months, and nude/buff/shell pinks in the warmer months. I've never tried OPI polishes, I'm going to have to look for those...

I wear colors I like. The colors are all dark and they are all unique. Blended with several colors, or glittered, or prismed or whatever. I used to have colors that were two tone, one color this way, another that way.

This week: prisms :)

Well, I mehendi-ed mine so they're a dark sienna brown. If I get tired of that look, I can paint over them. I also like any color for toes, fun and easy to cover if you need to look presentable--not that I know anything about that!

Except for henna, I like rosey pinks, dusky purples, and neutrals for toenails.

I rarely do my finger nails--they chip too easily. I also got spoiled by how perfect they looked with acrylics--not that I'd subject my nails to that kind of torture again anytime soon.

Since I only wear polish on my toes, I don't follow "seasonal color rules". Most of the time I wear pinks and oranges though.

I think someone else has already said this, but I put really "out-there" colors on my toes, colors I would never ever wear on my hands. Hot orange, Neon blue, silver, black, etc. I wear flip-flops most of the time or open toed dress shoes, so my toes are year-round visible. I like my toenails to be funky, whereas I like my hands to be very professional and/or romantic.

I alternate my toes. Sometimes they are silver, sometimes they are black, sometimes they are red. I'm working on growing my nails loooong right now, so the color goes on my toes. They are black right now. :grinhappy:

I feel anything goes with toes, fingers or lips, what ever floats your both. I tend to be a non conformist, so I say let your freak flag fly, WOo HOo!!

I got gothy with my toes yesterday. OPI Black Satin followed by Midnight Blue Glitter as a topcoat. Sparkly and very cool! I love black on my toenails. Both colours are discontinued though, which is a bummer. I really love OPI, and won't buy any other brand of polish.

I love black enamel too, I wear on both toes and nails. Mine is Loreal Bijou Crystals, its black with prismatic crystals. It looks like colored glitter and really sparkly in the sun.

I like bright stuff for my toes. Metallic orange and blue green are two of my favorites. Blood red is cool, too. I don't care for light pinks or pastels - too froufrou for me. :ooh:

When I was in collage, I'd paint them red, yellow, blue, green, and orange. Then I put M's on each one...M&M's!

That's so cute!

I think toenails are great for painting because anything goes. Even if you have to be in a subdued work environment and have boring fingernails you can let your wild side shoe with the toes. At least if you wear socks :ooh:

I love creatively painted toenails..and bright colors!

Another favorite of mine is a discontinued OPI shade called "Granite." It was a deeply rich, dark granite color. I absolutely adore it and stretched my last bottle out for a good year.

Urban Decay had an amazing dark purple that was almost a black purple called "Plague." God, I loved that one, too.

On the flip side, I really like french pedicures. :lafhard:

I usually wear some shade of red. That's what looks best on me. I think you can go with just about any color you want with your toenails and look appropriate for any occasion as long as they are clean and neat and the polish is kept up.
