I know some women are desperate for the sun-kissed look, but I hate it. On me, at least. I like my pale-as-death skin, and I despise tan lines... Unfortunately, I live in a warm, sunny place so I started wearing tank tops in March, so I've already got noticeable tan lines.
Does anyone know how to get rid of a suntan? I don't particularly want to use self-tanner to blend it in... I just want the colour gone!

I would suggest you use a combination of exfoliation and sun protection (preferably sunblock).
The exfoliant will remove the surface layers of dead skin, and tan, and the sunblock will prevent you tanning further.
The skin cycle is approximately 4 weeks and thus you should see a definite result in that time if you keep up this routine.
Good luck!

Dry brushing! :whoohoo: Works for me, but I also very rarely tan. And do be sure to use a sunscreen, and try to cover up on sunny days. Even long, white lace sleeves make a world of difference.
Also, over at the LHC (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=44644), there was a thread about using peroxide to bleach the skin. Not the method I prefer, but some of the members had success. And there are lots of other skin lightening treatments floating around the internet. Try looking at cosmeticscop.com, I know there was at least one article about hydroquonine there.

I don't know about getting rid of it, but preventing it works better. In addition to sunblock you may want to invest in clothes that have UV protection and keep you cool in hot weather. LL Bean and I believe J Crew have these type of clothing lines. I've also seen them in Travel Smith catelog. HTH

I like to drip lemon juice down my tan while in the shower. It takes it right out as long as I'm not to tan.
