What to wear to a wedding?

Hi everyone!

I have a conundrum I am hoping to get help with.

I rarely ever worry about appropriate clothing for church or shopping but I am stumped here and am hopeful I get a response.

I have a late afternoon/early evening wedding to attend. Dinner reception will follow and last probably well into the night. I don't intend on staying very late but you never know.

I. Have. No. Idea. What. To. Wear.

I am 40. I never wear revealing clothing. Haven't worn heels in forever. Much less hose. Also I am a dress size 18. 18w fits even better.

I would like to wear a dress or a 2 piece skirt set. Floor length if possible so I can wear knee high hose without anyone knowing I am wearing them.

The wedding is in October and in MO we can be cold or very hot that time of year. I'm thinking about something I can wear with a shawl. (Are those fashionable anymore?)

What do I do?????

PS Is it tacky to ask on the swap board if anyone may have a dress I can borrow? I would certainly have it cleaned after.

How tall are you? I happen to have a very nice formal that I wore to my SIL's wedding last year. I'm 5'10" (on a good day :lafhard: ).

Gosh, that KK is a sweety ain't she Kris? I would love to see pics of this lovely dress on KK and Kris, well not both at the same time but you know what I mean.

I love dressy uppy pics. Of course I have next to none myself, because I rarely get to dress up fancy.

All I know is that KK looks angelic in her wedding dress.

I agree. We belong to a couple of wonderful communities. I am always amazed at the generosity of the members here and at LHC.
