I drink a lot of tea and was just curious as to what everyone else is drinking. Maybe take an idea, leave an idea? :grinhappy:
My favorites:
Earl Grey with a touch of heavy cream and honey
Green Tea (I drink this the most)
White Peony and Clover Flowering Tea (so much fun!)
How 'bout you? :grinhappy:

Rooibos tea! It's probably the only tea I drink regularly.
I tried some tea that tasted like apple, cinnamon and raisin today too. Good for tea, but it was kind of unsatisfying. I kept longing for apple pie the whole time I drank it!:sweatdrop:

Spearmint tea is my favorite, hot or cold. It tastes slightly different than peppermint, more of a fresh, tingly, taste, I think. It smells wonderful, too, like Wrigley's chewing gum. :whoohoo:

I am passionate about tea! My favorite brands are Harney and Sons, Twinnings and Tazo.
I am super fond of H&S Holiday Tea http://www.harney.com/31613.html (http://www.harney.com/31613.html) Since it is seasonal at the store I buy from, I stockpile. I have three canisters in my cupboard.
I also have delighted in Twinnings English Breakfast for years.

I drink tea every single morning. Love it!
I usually alternate between Earl Grey and English Breakfast, but I sneak in a variety of others now and then for fun!

Earl Grey. Hot.
(OK, I couldn't resist. Somebody's gonna get that. ;) )
Actually, I do like Earl Grey, and hot, but I don't drink it that often. I drink green tea daily, either Celestial Seasons Green Tea or CS Blueberry Green Tea, both with a few drops of stevia.

No, no, it should be, "Tea. Earl Grey. Hot."
I love Earl Grey, too. Twinings is my favorite brand of Earl Grey so far. Other than that, my staple teas are Republic of Tea's Blackberry Sage and Tazo's Passion. Yum!

:lafhard: at the Star Trek reference!
I love Rooibos tea. Good for hair and tasty to boot. I also like mint tea (my favorite is the kind made with leaves fresh from the garden, but Mint Melange is good too), lemon tea, and green tea. Echinacea is great for when I have a cold, and I also have a Throat Coat tea that really helps for sore throats.

My favorite right now is Celestial Seasons Tummy Mint tea. It really helps settle an upset tummy. I also like a pear tea that someone gave me. Yummy. I'd like to try the TJ's Honeybush tea. Maybe I can get some. Are we talking all HOT teas? or iced tea? or just tea's in general?

Celestial Seasoning's Perfectly Pear White Tea
Lipton Honey Green Tea (which contains no honey, but does contain chamomile)
Chamomile Tea (any kind; love the smell!)
I use a mixture of the white tea, the green tea, and skim milk to get me through the afternoon slump (no caffeine before 1:30 pm for me!).

White Peony and Clover Flowering Tea (so much fun!)
Oooh, Steph, that does sound wonderful - like something out of a fairytale!
(mostly because Peonies are some of my favourite flowers, and I love clover as well)
What kind of tea is that? I've never seen anything like that!
I drink a lot of tea, easily three pots a day (with the one in the evening being something non-caffinated, like mint tea, rooibos or vervaine).
My favourites for 'regular' tea are the Emporer's Choice (a blend with some of that really heavy smoked tea and some regular black tea) and Lady Grey (which is a lot like Earl Grey but lighter, and has very pretty blue/purple flowers in it).
I loathe all those fruit teas that are so popular here: mango, strawberry, cherry... that's not real tea, it's like a very watered-down, unsweet version of lemonade! Yuk.
Oh, and I drink all my tea with milk in it, even the ones where it's highly inappropriate (like green tea). It's a bit barbaric, but I just like it that way.

:whoohoo: I love tea, hot or iced. I love to try new kinds. We used to have a store here that carried a wide variety but now they just sell cigars. I think white tea is my favorite, but I also like English Breakfast, Irish Breakfast, and a bunch of others, very few that I don't like. I stay away from herbal teas because of allergies, I had an unpleasant reaction to one (chamomile, I think this how you spell it).

I love tea. I pretty much drink at least some every day. I like black tea, with sugar and sometimes cream. I don't like to put anything in my green tea though. I haven't tried white tea at all, but I'd really like to.
I also like to drink lots of herbal tea. I like ginger, and anything with a sort of spicy warm feeling to it. Can't say I really like any mint tea, though, except iced.

Tea IS love! My husband offers to make me tea whenever I'm feeling down and it always helps SO much! I have a whole rack of different boxes and it's usually overflowing with spare boxes in another cupboard. I drink it in a huge mug that's more like a bowl. Right now my favorites are Tazo Passion and Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane (holiday decaf green tea). I don't ordinarily like peppermint so I'm not sure why I love the candy cane so much! Sometimes I make it with hot chocolate, and it's just like a grasshopper cookie...mmm!!
I once stumbled on a tea forum. I think it's when I was looking up info on water filters. Now THOSE people were obsessed with their tea! I learned some good tips though - like to use the best quality (bottled or filtered) water you can, and add the sweetener after you've removed the teabag so the bag doesn't soak it up.

Hi guys! Another tea drinker signing in! :whoohoo:
I am one of those who drinks Green Tea only. I just love Chai Green Tea with Citrus!
My dad brought some interesting tea back from his trip to Malaysia last year, the tea is called 'Pu-er', and is originally from the Yunnan Province of China. Basically it's a red green tea, with health beneficial qualities. It tastes and smells a bit odd to what I'm used to, but after a while I actually came to appreciate it a lot!
Sounds interesting some of the teas you guys mentioned. I've never tried Chocolate Tea, but it sounds yummy heheh. Oh, I've heard about White tea and been wanting to give it a try but still havent done it.

Here's one for Green Tea: http://greenteaforum.o-cha.com/index.php
Here's an interesting site, no chat forum that I've found yet though: http://www.teausa.com/
I think it may have been a UK based forum. I was looking up which water filter to get (ended up going with PUR) so I was putting in search terms like Water Quality, Water Filtration, Water Filter, Water Purification, PUR Water Filter, PUR Coupon......
Ok I'm off to continue trying to locate the original link!

My BF is Indian, so they're used to drinking with cream and sugar which was odd for me at first, but now I love Tetley's British Blend with french vanilla flavored creamer. I think his sister came up with using flavored creamer in the tea.
There's also a tea bar near my work where they brew your order in Yi Xing pots. FABULOUS.

Did your dad bring back loose or bagged tea? The reason I ask is because I'm drinking bagged right now and think it tastes great. But- I was reading on some tea forums that the loose does have an accuired taste. I'm assuming the loose tea has been processed less.

It all depends on my mood, but I drink Twinnings Earl Grey tea with cream or an English breakfast blend with cream (if I'm in the mood for a nice British feel), Yerba Mate for pick-me-up, and various Celestial Season herbal teas if I need something "clean" and soothing.
If you want a tea that helps (now mind you I said "helps") fulfill the craving of coffee.... check out Yogi Cocoa Spice tea. It's great with cream and doesn't need sugar, and if i were trying to get off coffee, that would help.

My absolute favorite tea (and I drink it iced everyday) is a Chinese blend of green tea and jasmine tea. I drizzle lightly with honey, ice it down, and it is fantastic! I buy my own from the Chinese market.
Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf also has their own version of jasmine green tea that's called Dragon Phoenix. It has a slightly different taste than what I'm used to from the Chinese market but it's just as refreshing iced.

Ah, tea........I love it. Soon the weather here will be too hot and I'll have to stop drinking hot tea...boo hoo. Oh well, then I can make tea in a jar and have it cold instead. For hot tea I used Twinings Irish Breakfast almost all winter, but I also really like Prince of Wales. For cold, summer tea, I like Bigelow Plantation Mint or some other good mint tea. Not peppermint though. Definitely need to use my trusty PUR filter and also drink it as is. I really like black teas, but I use a mug and usually get two mugs from each bag as I like it tasty but not too potent.
I absolutely, positively DO NOT like fruit tea of any sort.
I'm definitely watching this thread for any and all new options and sites. I expect my "stash" next winter will be better for having read it! :whoohoo: Thank you all for the imput...

Well, I guess if I had air conditioning I wouldn't have to, but it's getting hot here and all I use is a fan. Also, at my age, some OTHER factors help to make me 'run warmer' for the last few years, so let's just say I'm usually too hot already without making myself any hotter. Right now I'm even dreading eating because of the coming hot weather. I tend to want to eat everything cold and not heat anything. Many, many salads loom in my future.........
This is a really strange problem for me as I was ALWAYS so cold all the time. I am hoping that once all these hormonal changes are over I will be more on the cold side again. I don't mind having to wear more clothes, but when it's hot there's only so much a girl can take off!!!
Gee, that really doesn't have a thing to do with tea, and was WAY more than you wanted to know, right?????

Oh that reminds me. I have this awesome red ginseng tea stuff from Korea that I put in my green tea. It's a little packet of like..."pellets" that disolve and make a tea on their own (waaaaay too unpleasent on its own) but it's great with green tea.

Back to tell about my latest tea purchase- Ceylon Tea Company Passion Fruit tea. I wanted to recreate the iced passion tea I like from Starbucks, but it doesn't quite taste the same! Think I'll try their brand(Tazo) next time.
I've been making my tea and pouring it over ice alot lately. I just brew it a bit stronger and add some water and ice, and it's okay, but could be better. (like chai tea, passion fruit, etc.)

and also Dr. Stuart's Chamomile and Dr. Stuart's mint. (I have a mint teabag in my bottle of water atm, actually. It doesn't really strongly flavour it, but it makes it a bit different and more refreshing than plain water.)
I'll drink them all hot or cold, sometimes with a bit of sugar, except for the Raspberry and Peach herbal, which NEEDS sugar to bring out the flavour right, and I prefer brewed up very strong, with sugar, and plenty of ice. :)

What are some good brands for Green Tea? I bought some Lipton Green Tea back in the winter, and it tasted really awful, not at all like the kind I've had before. :gurn:
My favorite bagged green tea is Genmaichai by Choice Organic Teas, but a more readily available brand is probably Yamamotoyama. I don't care for Lipton tea in general myself, and I really don't like their green tea. It really does matter which brand you buy. Many don't taste that great. Also Bancha (loose leaf) (I think that's the brand name too--though technically it's a type of green tea) is good, and might be easy to find. I live in an area with a large Asian population and a lot of health food stores, so it's pretty easy to find quality green tea.
Tazo's China Green Tips is good, but I don't like the Zen. I don't like stuff mixed in my tea. People's Republic of Tea used to make a good green tea (Chinese), but now they tend to flavor it.
To answer the original question, I like all kinds of tea. I drink green the most, but I love black teas, herbal teas (tisanes) and yerba mate. I use a lot of herbal teas for health and to treat illness. I drink green tea all day, even in summer. The Chinese maintain that it's cooling! I also like iced tea, but don't really drink it much at home. I like it hot!
Jean-Luc aside, I don't really like Earl Grey, though I love the smell of bergamot, I don't like the taste.
ETA: I also love homemade chai made with Darjeeling tea. I have an entire cupboard devoted to tea--can't you tell?!

Back to tell about my latest tea purchase- Ceylon Tea Company Passion Fruit tea. I wanted to recreate the iced passion tea I like from Starbucks, but it doesn't quite taste the same! Think I'll try their brand(Tazo) next time.
Tazo's Passion tea isn't really passionfruit, but it's delicious! When you drink it hot, it's very tart and has a crisp taste. When you drink it iced, it's almost sweet. The difference between hot and iced is quite dramatic.

Wow--so many great suggestions to try! I'm a tea fan as well, but haven't branched out much beyond what I can find in grocery stores.
I actually haven't found any Tazo teas that I really like. One of the things I dislike about Starbucks is that there are dozens of ways to get coffee, but it's really hard to get a decent cup of tea. And they never have lemon to put in it (I don't like sugar or cream in mine).
Anyhow, my current tea stash has in it:
Republic of Tea British Breakfast
Republic of Tea's Chamomile Lemon (my favorite bedtime tea)
Celestial Seasonings Pefectly Pear White Tea
Celestial Seasonings Madagascar Vanilla Red Rooibos Tea (very nice for later in the day when I'm done with caffeine)
Celestial Seasonings Bali Black Raspberry (great iced! I don't like very fruity teas, but this one is wonderful)
Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime
Taylors of Harrogate's Scottish Breakfast (a very nice black tea blend that makes good homemade Chai, too)
Bigelow's Green Tea with Lemon
Good Earth's China Black (another great one for iced tea)
Traditional Medicinal's Organic Raspberry Leaf (great for cramps)

Wow, everyone knows a lot more about tea than I do!
In winter, I love to drink Chai, the spices seem to warm my bones. We drink a lot of green tea, last summer my Korean girlfriend gave me a huge quart ziploc of green tea, a friend of hers had just returned from her family's tea plantation in Korea. In Egypt I was served hot mint tea on the hottest days, it really does cool you down. We also drank iced Karkaday, which is tea made from red hibiscus blossoms. It is always heavily sweetened and tastes like red koolaid. I've seen the hibiscus blossoms in my local grocery too, Hispanic people make the same thing as Karkaday, only they call it Jamaica.

Oops, I kind of posted this in the "too much" thread, but I just love tea!
My favorite store-bought teas are Tejava and Ito En's Tea's Tea (Hoji and Green Jasmine). They're great because they don't have any crap added to them (you know, flavors, juices, sweeteners -- yuck). I also love most Constant Comment teas. I grew up on Sleepytime, and when I'm trying to kick coffee and caffeine, I drink Roastaroma. Roastaroma is the only tea I will drink with sweetener in it (well, with the exception of Thai iced tea and chai).
I drink peppermint tea when my stomach is upset, and I recently got some ginger tea for those days when I'm unusually chilly.
My number one favorite kind of tea is green, though. (I also like white tea, and green-white blends.) I got hooked on iced sencha when I was a foreign exchange student in Tokyo during high school, and I also have great memories associated with Japanese barley tea. If I could do the tea ceremony tea properly, I'd drink that, too. You know, the frothy, super bitter kind? YUM! Hot green tea or the tea they serve at Chinese restaurants -- which is usually jasmine, if I'm not mistaken -- also totally relaxes me.
If you can't tell, I'm not really a black tea kind of girl. :)
I guess I should mention that I love using chamomile tea in my henna mix when I dye my hair, because it gives it a lovely golden tint. I use chai tea for my body art henna because it smells exotic. And sometimes I put some vanilla tea in either mix if I want a sweeter scent.

Yes! :grinhappy: I'm a huge tea fan. I love soft fruity teas and soothing black teas. Peach tea and Jasmine are two of my absolute favorites. I'm open to trying any honestly, but if it tastes really sugary or you can tell there's far more 'What's in this' then actual tea I try to avoid it.
Oolong does wonders for a warm tea in the winter, and Black/Green tea is great for morning pick-me-ups.
I try not to drink it too often, but when I do I enjoy it. I usually drink it without milk, but sometimes I'll add some if it's a hot tea or pearl tea. (To some Boba/Tapioca/Bubble tea)

My daily tea is green tea (in favor the japanese ones), but from time to time I like to switch to a strong Earl Grey or Assam or Darjeeling or Ceylon as well as to some good oolong teas, oriental spice teas or roiboos tea. Not to mention some favorite herb-teas.
Teas for every mood so to speak :)

I love Lipton Morocco tea (it's not really tea but a blend of mint, cinnamon, and a bunch of other things I don't know the English names for) and also Twining Indian Chai. I don't know how it compares to "real" chai but it sure is yummie!! :whoohoo: I don't add milk to it, so I guess it's not really like real chai anyway! ;)
But I also like regular old yellow label tea with sugar and milk.
Actually I should start drinking more tea again! I think it helps keep me from snacking too much.
ETA: I also like Earl Grey and Lady Grey tea, and Licorice herbal tea and Mint herbal teas... I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting :)

I was at P.F. Changs last week for lunch. I asked for tea and they brought out a white tangerine tea. It was so good I asked the server what brand it was. She said Evolution. I searched on the Internet to see where I could purchase it. Could not find it local. So I ordered it online. I highly recommend this brand. I am going to try other flavors also.

Make your own Rose tea by steaming petals from 1-2 pink smelly roses - if you grow them at home- then adding 1/2 qty black tea which you generally use- boil only for a few seconds.
Strain and enjoy

Actual tea:
Tazo Chai with sometimes a teeny splash of milk, or Stash Chai black.
Earl Grey, black.
Mint tea, hot and black or cold and sweetened, both preferably with spearmint (I've found both black teas and herbal versions that I like.)Herbals
Kinda medicinal and preventative, since after 20+ years it looks like I might be prone to UTIs again for some weird reason -- Cranberry-Apple tea from Bigelow. But I really, really do like the stuff.
So far, pretty much anything with hibiscus and rose hips.
Too strong to really be a favorite, but I do make ginger tea from boiled root for medicinal use during cold season. Love the aroma.I need to hunt down some of the others mentioned here, and take a shot at making rose tea whenever mine are back in bloom. I would have thought rose petals too delicate to have much of an impact on black teas. Huh.

Hands down, my favorite tea is Tazo Passion, but close in the running is Mint Melange. Earl Grey is up high on the list; I drink it with creamer in it. I also drink something from Trader Joe's, I think it's called Yuku? I drink it with creamer and honey. It really helps dh's lactose intolerancy for some reason, so we keep in on hand. He drinks several cups of it a day, but I reach for it maybe once a week.

I like both classic, black tea and many different kinds of herbal ones. A long time favourite is Twining's Earl Grey, strong and sweet, but not spoiled with milk (I don't like milk in my tea at all).
Among the herbal teas my absolute favourite is Yogi tea's Choco Aztec Spice tea, it actually tastes like chocolate. Mmmmm :)

I like just about any kind of tea, and have been drinking a lot of hot tea lately. I bought sampler packs of Tazo and Numa, and have been thoroughly enjoying the variety. I think my favorite depends on my mood... Earl Grey, Tazo Wild Sweet Orange, various green varieties, Rooibos... yum, all of 'em. Teavana has some yummy flavors too... I have a family member that buys it and likes to share. :) :) Pretty teapots, too.
I got a bad first impression of Chai, probably because I put too much milk and sweetner in it, thinking that was the thing to do. I ended up with a super-sweet lukewarm concoction that I had to make myself drink. Yuck. I gave it another shot with just one pack of sweetner and no milk. Definitely *much* better. I like the little twinge of spiciness.
If you do put milk/cream in your tea, do you only put it in Chai/black tea, or other varieties as well? I can't imagine drinking green tea any way but "black" (sometimes a teensy bit of sweetner, sometimes not). Same for herbals...
Ooh... chocolate tea... haven't tried that one yet.

Lately, all I've been drinking is Celestial Seasonings True Blueberry. I'm trying to reduce caffeine and increase my water intake, so I've been having a pot every afternoon.
Six cups of water goes down very easily when it tastes like blueberry, with a cinnamon stick and some stevia! And if I get a chance to sit and have a couple of cups at around 3-ish, it's a very relaxing interlude in a busy day. Or in the evening, it's like a thick quilt on a cold day.
I'm also a darjeeling lover, I wait for an email when the new crop is ready every year and order it from SpecialTeas.com. My favorite is the Gopaldhara Wonder Tea.
I also love Women's Balancing Blend from Mountain Rose Herbs. Delicious! Just enough raspberry leaf to give me a boost, and the female benefits, well, at my age, I need all the help I can get!

I'm drinking green tea right now! :)
Some tea bags are a carcinogen because it's coated with something.
So i think from now on i'll try to stick with just loose leaf tea.
I needa go buy some now at the health shop. Buy tea for health benefits. Is there any particular tea that is good for hair or skin? Can you add other herbs to tea too like cinnamon and such? I'd like to make cocktail of teas for diff reasons. (hair growth, healthy body, just because it's yum, etc)
I am frequently anemic so i know i can't drink too much tea, i average 2 cups a day atm. I had 5 today becasue i have a cold!
Also i had a cup of tea before bed and got heart palpitations. So no more CAFF tea. I bought decafe green tea, i know green tea is healthy.
Also learnt today that putting boiling water on green tea gives it that gross taste, max of 80 degrees for green tea or else it burns!

I went shopping at T2 again...
I bought 3 more teas.
The strawberry and cream smelled DARLING but i can't have yogurt so i didn't get it. It has yogurt drops in it. I am not allowed to drink anything but water and tea now, so that makes tea more important to me, but i shouldn't be having caffeine also.
I tried "city breakfast" which was very delicious with a hint of vanilla
and "Green Rose" which is green tea with rose petals and some dried fruits like mango strawberry and papaya. And this one i LOVE! It's fruity and different which i love!!!
I am still yet to get on making my own tea mixed but I'm inspired now!

I had some Melbourne breakfast tea, and within seconds of the first sip started having mild heart palpitations!
So no more tea with caffeine for me i guess :( So sad because they were so tasty!

We've been drinking the most wonderful tea, from Revolution (http://www.revolutiontea.com/white-tea/). White Pear Tea. I have to have a smidge of Splenda in mine, but Cyk likes his plain. He also purchased some plain White Tea, it is a loose leaf tea.

I've actually found this tea to be my favourite of all teas. I'm yet to try White, i may :0
This tea is AMAZING, it tastes great, is realllly low in tannins and higher than green tea in antioxidants due to it's deep red colour.
Seriously tastes the best, i can only describe it as being warm...and creamy tasting?? If that even makes sence...
And i get the vanilla one though, because i love vanilla, It is actually a long brewer, and doesn't get bitter if you brew for even longer than 15 minutes (i think its 10 min brew).
i love it so much! It's good applied topically to eczema and the scalp, i've read it improves condition in 80% (condition as in the health not as a conditioner, it's a crappy conditioner..lol). But yeh i apply it to my roots and it actually adds volume, i make a cuppa and then after i'm done i just use the tea bag and part my hair and apply to my roots. Smells like vanilla and just my roots a boost, win win! :)
I love it!

Currently my favourite tea is Earl Grey Redbush. But I am tea junkie so I will find something else soon. I am also really fond of tea marsalas and Cardamom tea.

I picked up some Vanilla tea the other day at Big Lots. This stuff is amazing, especially with a smidge of Cinnamon Vanilla creamer. Yumm0

I was told only old women like peppermint tea, but thats not true.. I like it, too! :D
(I put honey in mine, though, that makes it taste a little different)

I like peppermint tea. It also helps sooth an 'iffy' tummy. I like honey , but usually just use splenda, watching the calories. *sigh*

That's true, peppermint tea does that. :)

I prefer spearmint to peppermint, but I've found both black tea and herbal blends with both that are really yummy.
My newest favorite is a "Citrus Green Tea" from Kroger's Private Selection (which is pretty hit-or-miss on quality, so a really pleasant - and cheap! - surprise.) :D

I grow peppermint and spearmint, and prefer to put spearmint in my black tea.

I like plain old Twinings Breakfast Tea. Coffee started making me nauseous in the mornings, so I switched to tea.

Hi themyst!!! We are so glad to have you, thank you for posting!
I take Prilosec, otherwise I think my morning coffee might make me skittery.

Thanks! :hi: *checks out all the smileys*
And on a more confessional note, I like THREE teaspoons (heaping) of sugar in my tea. I'm on a diet now though, so I'm using Equal (it's bearable).

Whoops - I actually do use Splenda, not Equal. Now of course I'm going to sound like a copycat ... :whyme:
I've just started using it within the last week and a half or so.

No worries.:geek:
I've been using Splenda for years. I even sprinkle it over strawberries. I'd cook/bake with it, but Cyk hates the taste, figures.
