My face has a tendency to get blotchy in a few spots, so I finally bought the Clinique Redness Solutions kit. It has a cleanser, cream, and daily protective base.
The problem is that the daily protective base goes on like white pancake makeup! No wonder it hides the blotches! So I look zombie white ... I don't understand because my complexion is pretty white to begin with. :purplex:
Has anyone else used it and had a problem like this?

I've used a ton of Clinique products but not that one. I would go to my Clinique counter and tell them exactly what you told us. They should be able to help you out.

Thanks - good suggestion, go right to the source I guess. :)

Also make sure you don't use hot water on your face, not even when you shower. This makes red skin WORSE. Believe me, I know. I haven't used hot water on my face in over two years and my redness factor is almost gone. I'm naturally ruddy complected AND olive.

Oh but I just loooove hot, steamy showers! :( At the end of my shower, I used to turn it on ice cold as I heard it would make your hair shinier - yet I did not find that to be the case for me. Maybe I'll just try it on my face.

Oh gosh I know, I loved hot showers too! Now I start out really warm, feels good on the old bod, and to get my hair nice and wet. Also kinda warm when I'm rinsing out my final conditioner, then I switch to tepid. I used to do cold rinses also. Now I just use cold distilled water to sluice off the well water (hard mineral-y).
