View Full Version : Baby's Bottom

I was wondering how this topic never came up either on LHC or here. But im tempted to start on this. Though its a little cringy...:purplex:
Bottoms are quite neglected part of the body with most of us(correct me if im wrong). So it would be a good idea to start sharing things we do or can do to help this region stay as good as the other part of our body. You can share your exfoliating, scrubbing, moisturising and toning secrets for the bottoms so that we can let our bottoms be as smooth and soft as baby's bottom!
My favourite is dry skin brushing(only 3days into this). I have seen a marked improvement with the frimness in the skin. I love Jergens moisturizing lotion with vitamins A,C,E.
Share your picks and tricks please.

I do the dry brushing too. I've been neglecting it as of late, but the thread on this board reminded me. I've been doing it in the shower three times in the past week, and it's already smoother!:whoohoo:
Other than that, I try to keep the circulation going. You know that feeling when you've been sitting a lot time and your butt feels stiff as cardboard when you get up? I hate that. So whenever I can, I try to get a standing-up break once in a while. If I have to sit down (like for a long car ride), I always stretch in the evening or for a bathroom break. If I'm not driving, I can even stretch in the car.

I find this an interesting topic, and funny as well!
I am lucky, I have always been blessed by the bum gods and my butt has not changed since i was a teen...even after pregnancy and my hips spread apart, it didn't seem to effect my caboose. One thing I DO get from time to time, is these itty bitty little bumps. I will get little patches of them here and there, and only in the summer. I'm sure they are from sitting and the hit. I would love to know how to get rid of them without comprimising the skin. Wouldn't it be great if we could go into a spa and say "I need me arse exfoliated" :D

I will third the skin-brushing, although I do it in the shower so my butt's wet at that point. I think my bottom and the tops of my thigh-backs feel NICER when I've done this periodically. The skin there seems rougher than...well, say the tops of my 'tocks or the fronts of my thighs. The brushing seems to help. I have not applied lotion to them like I probably should, I have to admit. ;)

Buffy the Backside Slayer by Lush!!! Fantastic exfoliating and moisturising bar you use in the shower. Highly recommended!
I was thinking of making something similar by melting some cocoa butter and adding... what? Ground almonds, perhaps, or cornmeal? Will think about it.

Oil with salt added is great for scrubbing, too. Some people prefer using sugar, but I find the salt gives me better results. After that, you just take a shower as usual. If you want to, you can even do a full body (or full buttocks) OCM. That always gives me smooth, glowing skin, but I'm too lazy to do it every time.

Let your SO give you a good butt massage! I love it to have my butt stroked and kneaded. The skin and muscles in that area are quite tough, so your sweetheart can really get going. And while he/she is at it, they can go on massaging the rest of you as well. Glowing skin, wonderful relaxation. No naughty comments please! http://www.kurts-smilies.de/angry.gif

I have to admit I love a good butt massage too... The muscles are so big, you can really get a lot of knots and tension there.

I agree, butt masages are soooo good. Especially after a tired day when your butt is feeling so stressed and tired. They are even better when someone else does it(sorry, i mean your SO and not self massage).

Jel, how long have you been using this? Its EXpensive but is it worth the money? Lush in India has whopping prices. But their stuff smells so good. I have to stand by and breathe in the wonderful aroma for a while when i pass by their store in the malls. Let us know if you do get to make something like that with home ingredients.
Thumper, lucky you. I too get those itty bitty little bumps and i think they are due to friction when we sit. I get similar ones on elbows if i write toomuch for few days. I am on the look out for sometheing to do about those bumps. Someone please come along here and give your precious advise.

You scrub with the salt and oil first, then rinse with water. The salt will rinse off, but not the oil. Then you just do it like a regular OCM, with steam and a hot, wet washcloth.

Naj, I can't say if it's worth the money. I love the scent, like the effect, and Lush cosmetics are a bit of a treat for me. It's not a HG product, though, and I honestly think that any scrub (salt, sugar) followed by oil or butter would do as good a job as Buffy.

I (used to) use sugar scrubs all over the body on daily basis and I remember my butt was as smooth as a baby's bottom.
brown sugar (not the jaggery we get in India)
olive oil
honey
worked great!!!!!!! And on occasions, I'd add coffee powder to the above mixture too since coffee powder is good for exfoliation as well as for removing cellulite.

Yes, I love buffy too! I also want to try dry brushing, since I bet buffy would get absorbed really well afterwards.
According to the lush website (http://www.lush.com/), buffy is made of:
Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao), Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii), Ground Rice (Oryza sativa), Ground Almonds (Prunus dulcis), Ground Aduki Beans (Phaseolus), Perfume, Lavender Oil (Lavendula hybrida), Lemon Oil (Citrus limonum).
so I'm sure you could make it at home, if you had the ingredients.

I have some soap I made that is great for my butt :grinhappy:. It's got some triple-brewed coffee, fine coffee grounds, and Dead Sea Mud in it. Caffeine is supposed to be good for cellulite, scrubby bits exfoliate, and DSM to detox my bum. Seems to work well, as the bum zits and teeny bumps are gone and my behind is quite nice now (or so I hear) :lafhard:.

Thanks Amber, looks quite easy to make up.But i have no access to shea and cocoa butter. Let me try sans what i dont have.Maybe with some other base, like ripe avocados?
Like to add that 3 days of dry brushing has done a great deal of good for my bottom. Its smoother and MUCH firmer.

Cool thread! I was thinking bout this yesterday... The scrub seem promising... I'm off to try it!!
Also, I've read that cold cream helps with the dry bumps. I don't have cold cream, so I can't test this theory...

I had been up doing some research work about the coffee, salt and sugar scrubs and found a good recipe. Not yet tried, but on the list.
Here it is:
JAVA CELLULITE BODY SCRUB
1/4 cup fresh ground coffees
3/4 cup brown sugar
1cup sweet almond oil(i think you can use olive oil or cocnut oil too)
2drops vanilla extract
2drops vanilla essential oil(optional)
Blending Procedure:
Place the coffee and brown sugar in bowl. Add the sweet almond oil and mix.
Once you have mixed to a good consistancy (a sort of loose paste), add the vanilla extract and absolute. Mix some more to distribute scent. (If the mixture does not stick loosely together, add a bit more almond oil until that occurs.)
Use in the shower to scrub rough areas and smooth the surface skin. Do not use on tender, broken or sensitive skin or on your face. Rinse thoroughly. Follow with moisturizer. I guess this scrub would work well even for the bottom and butts are quite attractive to cellulitis.:lafhard:
Its got the scrubbing action of sugar and benefits of coffee. Anyone adds something else and gets better result, please report back.
