I really don't know a lot about makeup. For years I've been using a tinted moisturizer. Recently I just ordered a whole bunch of MMU samples. The problem is how to I pick one? Do I hold them up next to my face and compare and see which one is the closest? Am I supposed to go a shade darker, a shade lighter?

I got 18 samples and none of them seem to match my skin exactly. :( However when I apply them most seem to look just fine. My skin's tone didn't change much, simply look smoother. OK the lightest sample did make me look very pale, but my face didn't look any lighter than my hands. The darkest shade made me look a bit tanned, but comparable to my arms. Plus I'm naturally lighter colored over the exposed part (face, hands) so if I find a perfect match for myface it won't match my neck too well. I guess I need some tips on what to look for in order to find the perfect shade, and what's the "perfect shade"? :)

What are you talking about? This is a beauty board. Go somewhere else.

Anyway I think I have found the perfect match by blending three of those samples together. I blended a golden honey color, a light pink color and a near white color and got the perfect match. :o I can't believe it. I always thought my skin has yellow tone instead of pink, but I needed to put in almost 50% pink to make it right. I guess if your skin is light enough then there's a lot of pink because of blood color. :)

Have fun playing with the makeup. Minerals are very forgiving.
