I went into an Albertson's today to get a drink while I was waiting for my battery to get replaced (at Sears, not Albertson's ;) ), and since it's one of the stores that will be closing, they're having a total inventory blowout, everything 5-50% off, and all haircare and cosmetics are 25% off.

So if you use Suave, VO5, Aussie, Garnier, or whatever, now's a good time to stock up! :pirate:

There's a list of the 30 Bay Area stores which will close at the end of this article (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/06/08/BUGA0JACKK1.DTL&hw=albertson&sn=001&sc=1000). There's 7 more in Nor Cal, but I'm not sure which ones they are.

Do you know if they are also closing some of the ones in SoCal? Whats going on with Albertsons? I just found out last night, that CVS is took over the local Sav-On, that I go to. Wonder if they are taking over all of them. :purplex:

I just found this article (http://www.ufcw.org/workplace_connections/retail/industry_news/albertsons_sold.cfm) at the UFCW site, they're saying that it'll be 100 Stores in 6 States. I didn't see anything on Albertson's site about the closures. Maybe try searching your local newspapers or tv news sites?

ETA: Albertson's got bought by a conglomerate that includes CVS, that could be why the Sav-on changed to CVS?

Really? I remember CVS being bought by Sav-On years ago.
