Computer help please

I have a problem in My Documents area I had some photo's I copied from emails of my trip and now they keep copying and copying . I have a folder in My Photo's just one copy and somehow got copy's in My Documents [don't ask me how I manage to do these things :parp: :gurn: :boggle: ]
The problem is as I try to delete the copy's in My Documents they re copy I now have hundred's upon hundred's of copys and copy's of copy's and shortcut's to copy's the last count I had 18 copy's of each photo and then the shortcut copy's . It's a nightmare.
Anyone have any ideas.
I have tried deleting and using ctrl or shift , I tried highlighting and deleting [ the computer froze at that] I have restarted my computer to unfreeze the My Documents area . Nothing works.:grim:

Try moving them into another folder then delete the folder?
