This was a problem a had a little while ago. My skin is OK now, and I didn't get around to posting here in time, but I thought it might still be useful for someone else / future reference. :)

I got my face sunburnt and my nose and forehead were peeling too. This also happened on a week when I was in an office and had to wear make-up. Any foundation or powder that I applied, of course, just emphasised the peeling skin further. Scrubbing it did not remove the peeling - there was always some more. And the bare look was not too hot either, given that it's my nose that needs powder most of the time (oily T-zone) and was basically shiny, red and peeling.

Are there any secret tips for dealing with such a situation?
(I ended up ditching makeup for a day or two, then applying foundation and trying to forget about the way I looked. :))

Noxzema. It was originally developed as a remedy for sunburn anyway, and it does work. You rub some into your skin on the burned areas so it soaks in, you don't rinse it off. It has soothing ingredients that will cool your skin and help it to heal faster from sunburn, plus it's moisturizing. Just apply it a couple times through the day as needed. Some people also cover the area with a cool wash cloth for several hours in addition to the Noxzema.

It really is best to give up makeup for a couple days till sunburn is healed - your skin needs the air exposure to regenerate itself, and makeup tends to prevent your skin from absorbing the moisture from whatever healing product you're using (the Noxzema, aloe vera gel etc.)

Thanks, feisty redhead! I haven't heard of Noxzema. I did use AVG on the area though.
