I can't imagine what the deal is with my lips, but I somehow can't get lipliner to work well on me. If I put it just on the edge of the vermillion, I still manage to look like a kid who's grabbed her mom's lipstick and smeared it on (it looks like I've gone way over the border, when I actually haven't). I don't know if I'm bearing down too hard, or if the topography of my lips is just weird. Does anyone else have this problem?
This sucks because toward the border, my natural lip color doesn't make a sharp enough contrast with my skin, it fades out. So, I have poor definition.

I don't get lipliner either, I read somewhere that some lip balm before lipliner helps it, I haven't tried this yet but I'm going to. It sounds a bit weird as I thought lipliner was like a primer but I'm going to give it a go and see how it goes. It might help you!

Yeah, I've tried that, but the lipliner won't stick that way..
I might just have to try an even lighter color.

What lipliner are you using? I find that the stuff the drugstore sells is too dry and doesn't go on very well. I swear by MAC liners. They have a colour called "Half Red" that works well on pretty well any skintone. It is a neutral red/brown shade that isn't too dark for my fair skin.

I'm using Maybelline Line Stylist in Nude. I love the color, it matches my own so well.
So maybe the moisture content of it isn't good enough, and I'm getting too much product when I drag it along my lipline?

I don't like Maybelline liners because yes, they are pretty dry. Revlon's liners are better, but I really do recommend MAC. They have a nice nude called Whirl that I really love.
You can view the colours here (http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/products/sp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY15111&PRODUCT_ID=PROD1474). I looked at the Maybelline website, and MAC's Spice liner looks like it might be similar :)
