Time to reveal. I'm a buffer by training, but have started coming over to the side of swiping instead.

Wow...I am an MMU user and have no idea what you are talking about. Please relieve me of my ignorance!

I use a goat hair kabuki brush to apply MMU, but there is no buffing or swiping going on....(mystified).

I'm actually talking about the application process. Do you buff the minerals, doing little circular motions over your face with your brush, or do you apply the minerals in a swipe?

I tend to do both. I usually load my brush, and swipe it over my face lightly to make sure I dont get too much in any one spot, then I go back and buff a little.

Different parts of my face need different things, though- I have to buff quite a bit on my nose and across the cheek bones but the rest of my face seems to do better with a swiping method.

When I wear MMU, I use a damp flocked sponge, so I guess that makes me a 'swiper'.

I guess I do a combo of the 2. I swipe at first to get the stuff on, and then I buff (what's alerady there) to even things out.

I mix mine with AVG and apply with hand like liquid makeup. (Brushing on makes my dry skin flake) I guess neither is the answer.

I am a buffer. I use a kabuki brush and buff the minerals onto my skin. I tries swiping with a brush and it was useless to me. Little coverage and uneven, streaky application that looked horrible. :)

Oh I like the idea of mixing with AVG. I like the way a liquid make up looks on me. I've tried mixing my BE powdered make up with some creamy things and have had so so results. I like to buff on my Mineral Veil with one of those big fat round brushes with the ends all cut to one length. Are those called Buffing Brushes?

I'm mostly a buffer. Carolyn, I think you are describing a kabuki brush?

It's interesting to me that some want to make MMU liquid. The fact that it is a powder is what got me interested initially, because I had no luck spreading liquid foundation in any way that looked natural.

After a few times trying to swipe, it seems that, for me, buffing works better. Part of the reason is that I like the sensual feel of the brush, almost like a mini massage.

I would get comments when I swiped like, "What did you do differently with your makeup?" I really preferred the "Your skin looks incredible" comments that I sometimes get when buffed.

I think that you mean a flat buffing brush, like BE's Heavenly Face Brush? A big, round brush that is cut flat across. I like that brush for applying AOFCs and radiances. :)

I'm a buffer, I didn't like the swipe look...It went on too thick for my taste.

I'm new to MMU, but so far I'm buffing the foundation and swiping the mineral veil.

That is what I do. :grinhappy:

I actually had a little extra time the other day, and decided to be the buffing diva. Wow, what a difference -- I buffed the foundation, not pressing hard, just kind of enjoying the feeling of the brush on my skin. The result was much better coverage than i usually get.

The swipe is so much faster, but I guess I'm a solid buffer now.

I swipe then buff, I buff for a good 2 minutes and again at lunch
