Didn't know if I should post this in Fashion, Movin' It or Coffee Shop, but here it be.

Does anyone own Fit Flops (http://www.thefitflop.com/)? If you do, please post what you think of them, and if they were worth the money. I am thinking of getting a pair, but not sure that I want to spring for the $.

I've seen these at Bath and Body Works. I'm not sold on the way they look, otherwise, I'd probably try a pair. I'm always looking for comfy shoes.

As far as the exercise benefits? I have no idea!

I fail to see how they work O_o Am I just being really dense?

I think they're just ergonomically built, like Crocs or Birkenstocks, to help with back/foot problems.

Oh, here I thought it was just about flipflops, which fashion wise I toss in the same bin as Zoobas, sweat pants and mu-mus.

Honestly, I think a good pair of athletic shoes with inserts would be better for support.

I HAVE THESE!!!

I love them, I have had them for quite a while now and wear them most days, initially they made me feel like I was a bit unstable, a very small amount though not like I was drunk!
I really do love them and will buy another pair when these start to wear out, I would recommend them!!:whoohoo:

gilly, how are they for arch support? I'm not a fan of how they look, but if they're comfortable, have good arch support, and will help get me in shape, I might have to get a pair ;)

They are so comfy, once you are used to them you forget you are wearing them! I find them very supportive unlike normal flip-flops (thongs) these stop your foot from being too flat which I like, I am going to get a black pair next , I have a blue pair now and love them!

Hmm, I might have to try a pair on the next time I'm at the mall. I work out 4x a week, but I also do a LOT of walking on my days off from the gym, so if they'll help me tone my legs up faster, I might just buy a pair.

These look interesting... but I don't know if I am willing to spend $50 to try out interesting... :purplex:

They could be great for teaching... all that standing and walking back and forth...

I once spent a bundle on "ergonomic" and stylish flip flops. They are comfortable and cute, but they don't really fit all the situations I want them to. If you are looking for a sandal for fitness, you could try chacos. (ETA: I have their toe-less sandal, not their flip flop. I can't vouch for the flip flops). They are pricey but they are long-lasting, like birkenstocks.

I have two pairs of these. I LOVE them. As for a 'leg workout'.....I don't know. I can't say I've really felt anything much in the department, but they are simply the *most* comfortable thing I have ever worn. I even wore them walking around Covent Garden all day in the pouring rain, coz I just couldn't bring myself to walk around in anything that is not as comfy as my fitflops:whoohoo: .

They are like squishy little cushions of foot heaven!!

They also help with absorbing impact on the knee (I had surgey recently) and my Mum got some as she suffers with intense pain in one of her achilles heels, so much so that she can't walk very far. She loves them too and said that they really help to relieve the pain.

They are based on the idea of MBT's, but are way more comfy (and not so ugly).

I want them in every colour!!! I'm just worrying what I'm gonna do when winter comes and it's too cold to let my little toesies out.

I know Avon sells the Curves version of them and they're arent nearly as expensive as the ones featured in this thread.I personally don't have a pair, but I am friends with a woman that does. She claims its like walking around on cushions but can't even tell she's wearing shoes at the same time.Does that make sense? It did to me :P

I run flipflops down to the ground so I'm not quite sure on buying a pair of these for myself. How well do they hold up?

I love the pair of Fit Flops I got and will probably buy another. Have I noticed improvement in toning? No. HI never wore flip flops regularly because they gave no support to my heels or balls of my feet. I love how thick the sole is on the Fit Flops -- that makes them much more comfortable, IMO. I can't speak on their longevity, since mine are just a couple of weeks old and mostly worn on weekends only.

I wear Birkenstock Gizeh thongs mostly in summer. I have oodles of colors, even patent leather. So, frankly, I was skeptical that they'd be more comfortable.

DD bought me a pair for Mother's Day. They do feel a little weird at first, but after a little while, I got used to them. Honestly, they don't have the arch support of the Birkenstocks, but they are comfortable.

The drawback for me is that the straps on the side and top of the foot aren't as structured and stable as the Birkenstock Gizehs. They waggle a bit after a while.
