Knee-high socks!

I remember being forced in to them as a kid. I hated them. But, a couple years ago I rediscovered them and now I love 'em.

If I had more money, I'd have more socks... But then I'd run out of places to keep them, I'm sure! Most outfits are planned by picking socks, then hairdo, then clothes. I often drool over www.sockdreams.com (http://www.sockdreams.com). Some of my socks are from there. Actually, I just got 5 pairs from there and that's what triggered this thread.

So, any others sock-obsessed? Other obsessions?

I have to admit to loving long socks as well. I say long since knee-high don't come up to my knees. But it's nice to know that they won't sag down so far during the day that there's skin between my jeans and my socks.

I have problems getting some knee-highs to go over my calves. That's why the ones I just ordered are "over the knee" socks. So, they come to rest right below my knees. Cost a little extra, but it was worth it!

I love sockdreams! Perhaps it's because I can't get/wear the kinds of shoes I'd like to because of my injury - but oh man I can wear whatever socks I wanna! I have a hugenormous calf though, so I've actually never ordered from sockdreams, sometime I need to just bite the bullet and give em a try.

Form one with hugenormous calves to another: Definately look in to the Over The Knee section... And never get the space dyed socks. They are so cool looking... But they only came to my mid calf and even then the fall down (unless I wear other knee highs under them... which is okay, but feels kinda silly.

I love toe socks. I think you just gave me a favorite new place to shop for new ones! :D My aunt didn't know what to buy for me for Christmas and my cousin reminded her of my fondness for toe socks and funky striped socks so she went and bought me about a dozen pairs of fun socks with all sorts of colors and designs, and even some fuzzy socks that are the most comfy things in the world!

I love knee socks. I have a cute pair that I got at Halloween (gotta love Target) that are black, purple & orange stripes. My only other pair are plain black, but I love them.

:ooh: I love raccoons. I have figurines, stationary, prints etc. I would be so happy if I could find a hair toy that had a raccon on it! In the spirit of the OP I would love raccoon socks too.

:boggle: I have tried to talk DH into growing out his chinny whiskers and letting me dye them like a coon tail, ala Scott Ian of Anthrax but the silly man refuses.

it was started in HS when my first bf gave me a pair of turtle earrings and just ballooned out of control.I have had many that sadly broke over the years so my collection is quite smaller than it used to be.I had to leave some of my garden ones at my moms because she has a beautiful herb garden and my turtles need a pretty home outside.I haven't had a chance yet to round em all up in the house but I will post tomorrow :D

But I try to see them not as a splurge but as an investment, as they don't lose any value, I could always resell them at the price I bought them.

If any of my ponies went missing I'd be really upset... A large portion of them are gifts. I, too, keep most of mine high up.

I love the *look* of socks. But I mostly can't stand to wear them. They drive me absolutely insane. I wish I loved to wear them, because they look so cool!

I started to collect Carebears when they first came out but gave that up early on.I finally put the ones I had in my sons toybox for all our neices(3 that are under 3 at the same time)to play with when they came to visit us.They dont.They'd rather play with hot wheels lol

and I feel the same way about socks Islandgrrl ..i love to look at them but I feel like they are constricting my feet.I swear by ballet flats during the winter and flipflops during the summer b/c I hate something that binds my feet so much...

my sister who is 18 got me on the bandwagon, i *borrowed*:innocent: a pair from her room when she was away b/c i didn't have any clean pants only my shorts, it was cold out and i put them one and all my friends went crazy over it, been wearing them off and on ever since

As far as socks go I like crew length. For some reason I feel smothered in knee length socks. As far as collections I love anything southwest style. Unfortunaltly things like furniture in that style can be expensive. Even though I live in the Southwest I have liked this style for years before I moved here. I have jewlery, dishes, pictures, figurines in Southwest style. Someday I want the furniture. Bit by bit I say. I used to be an avid Tigger collector. I still love him but have toned it down a bit.

I enjoy socks, but I have to buy men's to get them to fit. There are fewer fun choices, but I still like to indulge in argyles!

Hi - I love knee socks, too, and need loose ones. I found some at The Vermont Country Store (they have an on-line store). Not jazzy looking, but comfy, stretchy, and available in wool or cotton. Love 'em!
