Ficcare GO

Hi! Since the forum is down, I am starting this thread here.

If you have questions/concerns, please email me (littlebirdie at mac.com) instead of PMing - it's just easier for me!

I know that two folks have received their stuff so far, yay! Everyone should be getting their clips this week. I am going to inquire at the post office today (Monday, June 12), as some of the tracking numbers are not showing up yet. I'm not sure why, perhaps this is a paypal shipping thing, I never used that before with paypal.

Also, I was late getting some of the packages to the PO, so don't fret - everyone's stuff is now officially out of my hands.

Please let me know if I can help you! I will check in here at least once a day, but please feel free to email me or call if you need any info or if there is a delivery issue or problem, or if I (heaven forbid) sent the wrong stuff, etc. We'll work it out together!

I am sooooo disappointed that LHC is down and for so long! I was really looking forward to the "My Clips have Arrived and Here's a Pic of Them in Action!" which I figured would be coming in this week. (Wouldn't include my pictures, though, as it's one thing asking my health aide to take pix of hair sticks/sprays, quite another to take the back of my head! ;o)

I haven't received any info on tracking, which is okay, as I don't mess with it unless something is way late.

Yeah, I'm checking the link I got from PayPal daily, and I get this message:

Used to up until a few years back, now I don't get a second post :whyme: I loved second post because even if the thing you were waiting for didn't arrive in the first you could sit and wait for it. Then we moved and no second post since then pretty much... And our post doesn't come till 11:30am which is so annoying! When we had first and second post the first post would come before I left for school!

Another day of no status from USPS. It's been five days and they haven't received the package yet? Now that's very strange.

My letter carrier had a package for me yesterday, can you believe I was disappointed when it was "only" a france luxe item from icydove???? Wow, I'm spoiled!! (OK, I had already received "most" of my FL order from icy, the package was just one small item that had been on back order. But still . . . )

C'mon, Birdie, please post pics of "all" the Ficcares. And let us know who got theirs. I want some vicarious thrills here, while waiting (waithing, waiting) for the real thing!!!

Elyce, you're hilarious :lol: My mail usually comes around 10:30, so I'm pacing around the house waiting for the mailman and his ipod to come by. He never takes it off when he comes to the door with a package, which is VERY annoying. I think it is kind of rude :nosey:

And Peg, no-mail days don't happen at my house, we have lived in the same house for 20 years, are on every mailing list and get waaaaay too much junk every single day. And that's not even counting bills!!! We had 2 washtubs full stacked up after our last vacation, egads.

Another day without Ficcares although the postman does have another hour to bring me them. But my hope fades.
You'll never know, sometimes the woman who brings us the letters carries little packages with her, and sometimes the bigger packages are brought by an extra postman.

pietri, of course you're right with all these holidays inbetween, I don't worry or anything, but I'm sooo impatient!
My mother also said that the customs don't work on Saturdays, so that also adds to the shipping time. Sigh. :sleep:

I'm amazed at how many of you seem to know your mailwo/men, even to having nice chats on occasion.

My guy is like a thief in the night. Sneaks up to the box, stuffs it all in, whether it should be "stuffed" or not, jumps back in his car and races off down the street to the next mailbox!

I think he's got that attitude thing going because he actually has to get out of his car and bring my mail up to my box, whereas the others are delivered to the boxes out at the street.

Forget that he gets paid a bit extra for this "additional" work - for medical purposes, I can't get to the street to retrieve my mail, it has to come to me!

So I avoid my mailman and certainly would not want him to know that there was something extra special I was awaiting to arrive in the mail. He'd run his car over my Ficcares, I just know he would....

I'll be off to the Netherlands for a week's holiday on Saturday (that's the plan, anyway...) - I'd love to have my Ficcares so I can wear them! *sighs*

As worrisome as it may be, if you are in the US at least forwarding mail doesn't take any time. It's probably better if they have as much notice as possible, but I'm in a different place for the summer and just went to the post office and filled out the form (but I think you can do it online too) and the mail started coming to the new place on the day I told it to. Which is what you'd hope for, but I was worried about turnover time =p

But if you're going to get to your new place pretty soon you could just forward all of your current mail there and then they should be safe and sound even if they do take longer to get there. *wonders if it's possible to change the destination of something en route*

Well in any case if you give them a date and the ficcares got there on/after that date they'd be immediately sent out again, I'd think.

Or maybe you could call the post office that gets your mail (if you know which one it is) and tell them you are moving soon but expecting a package and to not send it out with the carrier if they get it?? I don't know how willing they'd be to do that but maybe you could get them to call you when it comes and depending on the circumstances you could go pick it up or tell them to send it on to the new address. Of course..all depends on how willing they are : /

I don't even know if any of this would help at all, now that I think of it..

Since I can't give you an itrader rating just now, I wanted to post here and thank you for the awesome job you have done on this GO! Despite travel and sickness, you really came through for us, and it must have been very difficult for you!!

I have run a small GO, and can only admire how complicated this must have been. But you kept up the communications flow and kept working to get us all our shinies! I know others will get theirs today or in the next few days, so I'm sure you'll get lots of nice notes, but wanted to tell you how much I (and I'm sure all of us) really appreciate your willingness to take on such a huge project for us.

I for one would never have been able to get so many nice things without the amazing discount, thanks to you and your sister (give her a hug for us when you see her!)

Oh, and not to scare you, but my wish list is all stocked up again, thanks to your great photos, so I'll be ready when you do another GO!!!!

Dumb question: Will we now be giving "Rep Power" feedback, even with LHC is up? After all, it's showing LHC as a sub-forum of the Beauty Bottle Hair Forum and, when "Beauty Bottle" first appeared on LHC, it was introduced as the "Home" of LHC.

If this is the case, all this "hanging around until LHC is back up" I've been doing is for naught. This IS LHC!!!

Therefore, as I started out, won't we be giving Rep Scores? And will we have completely lost the Trader Ratings we'd built up? And will we no longer have the same number of posts (on LHC I think I'm 400+ and here it's, what, maybe 20?!)? Will I have to wait forever AGAIN to get to see the pictures on the styling pages? Receive PM?

And still ther's no Ficcares to help me through this crisis!!!!!!!

This is just the site that originally caused LHC to exist..LHC is like an offshoot of this site.

LHC will come back up and TBB and LHC will be two different sites that are frequented by a lot of the same people
Rep isn't for trades, but for informative helpful posts.

TBB is shown as a 'sub forum' on LHC too..it just links to the other site

Birdie, you are a doll! I had a major personal disappointment Wednesday night, so when the Ficcares arrived on Thursday, it was a much needed distraction. Maybe my guardian angel speeded up my package because I needed the retail therapy!! (The disappointment wasn't the end of the world, just something I really wanted and had worked very hard for, so it feels like a huge setback. Life goes on . . .)

Not having your head examined, just feeling grateful. Put me down for a Primavera in Tortoise!!

Elyce, that's pretty much why I want my clips to arrive this week! My week has been pretty terrible, and my clips would really cheer me up! I nearly jumped out of my skin this morning when my doorbell rang, but the postman didn't have my clips, only a bottle of nail polish I got from ebay :rain: Talk about a letdown!

My ficcares arrived today. Thanks so much Birdie. I prefer the beaks because I wear buns alot. I'm hair challenged when it comes to the Maximas. I got a shiny gold and a shiny silver beak. I'll post pics as soon as I figure out how (not sure if it is different on this web site from LHC)

My mail came. As you see no happy smilie things going on, you can easily guess that there were no Ficcares for me today. And tomorrow is Sunday, so no mail.

Personally, I think God wouldn't mind the post office working on Sundays, delivering mail to the worshiping and resting multitudes.

I mean, there's that slogan, right: "Neither snow, nor rain, nor dark of night, **nor Sundays** will keep us from our appointed rounds" Right?!

Hmmm, those little Smilie things aren't there. Guess I used 'em up!
