Anyone have any comments on this product? I discovered it on the counter at home and rescued it from the abandonment of my mom...:gurn:

I'm refering to the one in the blue container with white writing... the 'original' one... I'm pretty curious about it

Anyone?

I love it cause itīs full of childhood memories - the smell takes me right back... :lafhard:

Apart from that: Well, itīs not very natural. I prefer simple oils for my skin nowadays. I do keep a can of Nivea out of nostalgia, though.

My Mom used to use it too, back in the day :nosey: So yes, childhood memories galore. The scent formulation has hardly changed all these years. I don't use it myself as the brand is somewhat oily on my skin and doesn't absorb in as much as I'd like.

Hehe. I love that stuff. I use it if I make a big mess with my eyemakeup. Put a bit on a q-tip, rub on the undereye area, then put on my concealer. :D

I don't use it anywhere else on my face unless I have extrememly dry skin.

I have a nice childhood memory of Nivea too. :grinhappy: Once I got badly sunburned while on a family camping trip in Italy. My sleeping bag had sand in it, I was miserable! The next day Mom bought a tin of Nivea (does it still come in a tin?) and slathered me in it. The burn went away, turned into a nice tan and never did peel. Good stuff!

As a teenager I would buy it in a clear glass bottle. It would seperate and would have to be shaked well to get it to emulsify. Too oily for my face.

I have used almost every brand in the book; and now I am using Neutrogena, which seems to be doing as good a job as anything else ever did, and is much less expensive, SP3 15 wrinkle protector is working well, even though we haven't had a whole lot of sunny weather here.

I think that stuff is great. Especially on dry skin.

Thanks guys!

I read on the Nivea website that it can be used as a mask. Feeling adventurous, I added a drop of tea tree oil and left it on for about 15 minutes a few days ago. So far, so good. I didn't break out like I was expecting to (I have oily acne prone skin) and my skin is feeling nice and soft.

Yes, it still comes in a tin! :whoohoo: I love the smell! :soppy: Brings back such nostalgic memories. My aunt used to apply it over her arms and legs every night before sleeping. It's great for the body although a little too heavy for my acne-prone face. Glad it works for you, golden_gal :grinhappy:

YAY for Nivea! Childhood memories here, too. :D My earliest memory of it is my mom slathering it all over my butt as a very little girl. :lafhard: I used it on my son, too, for really bad rashes (yeast or otherwise). Love it. Will have to buy another jar.

Yup! Still comes in a tin. Here, I can find the tin in the samples section of our Fred Meyers. I gave them to everybody as stocking stuffers a few holiday seasons ago. :D

FWIW, the Nivea face care line is great, too. I used to use the Coq10 face cream and absolutely loved it. If I were to go back to buying face cream, I'd probably buy Nivea.

I'm joining the Nivea fan club too! During winter time, my skin is soooooo dry and painful--that cream is the only stuff that gets me back together. When I was in college and thought that I had outgrown it (what is it about our families and slathering us with creams :) ) My dermatologist recommended it again, and there I was. Yay! :whoohoo:

Okay. Had to go to the store to get a new jar, but they didn't have the original. I bought Nivea Soft, which is a much lighter consistancy and a different smell. :( Ah, well. I'm sure it'll be lovely.

the blue tinned Nivea had help in reducing the lines on my neck. =) inexpensive and effective. I slather a generous amount on my neck every night before I sleep.

Ooh...I just started to do this too! So far, it has really helped with my dry arms and legs. This stuff has the makings of an HG...
