View Full Version : Feb OPI GO
BBGrrl
February 15th, 2008, 05:17 PM
I was asked to run this so here goes. The prices have gone up since the last time I ran one so we are back to square 1. If you want something other than OPI color let me know and I will run and check the price. The wholesale place I use does not carry Nicole, I am sorry about that, I know some of you wanted those.
www.OPI.com (http://www.opi.com/) has the list of colors and nail treatments. I can also get Seche color and treatments but I don't know the price so if you want it let me know and I will check. If you can think of anything else just ask, I may know a place to find the info.
I was thinking 3-8-08 as the closing date. How does that sound?
OPI color $5.12
OPI Designer series (including top and base coat) $7.15
OPI Nail envy $9.75
Nail Tek $5.80
Nail Tek anti fungal $7.15
Seche Vite $5.80
Posh top coat $4.80
I will take paypal at sanrblue@ aol. com (just close up the gaps). It adds 2.9% + .30 per transaction. I will also take money orders and personal checks on a case by case situation.
I have no idea what shipping will be so I will need you to PM me your zip code along with how many bottles. I will go and weigh them and write back the shipping cost.
ETA: I forgot to add in the tax. For some reason CA taxes retail and wholesale. So I need to change the price to $5.12 so I don't lose money on this.
Plus if I gave you a quote on shipping before it has gone up. USPS has raised their price. So we are starting new.

Are the nail treatments part of the GO, by chance? I'm interested in the Original Nail Envy.
BBGrrl
February 16th, 2008, 03:20 PM
The treatments are definitely in the GO but I don't know the prices on them. All I need to know is which ones and I will check and add them.
I wrote down the nail envy and will check it next time I go out.

Question: I love the looks of OPI and would love to begin doing something a little more fun with my nails (I'm one of these people who really takes note of people's hands, yeah, weird, I know....). Problem is, my nails are really suffering from the meds I take, sort of "shredding" and "shedding" and "sheeting" away (out of "s" adjectives).
The only thing I've been able to wear is the industrial strength Sally Hansen stuff, and only the treatments in clear. Now, how boring is that??!! And yet they're still acting up!
Avon nail polish is a killer, I don't even bother looking at it anymore. I tried Chanel and it was not any better, plus the color was a flat orangey-thing that was ugly and a "color on the monitor different than in real life" incident.
Anyone else suffering screwed up nails thanks to seriously damaged health with OPI experience? I'll bet there are just thousands here, right?!.... :o(

I take a chemical soup every day. I also started taking a large dose of Biotin, that helps immensely. I love OPI, more than any other nail polish I've tried, and I've tried them all! Of course, OPI going hand in hand with Seche Vite rocks!
Garnett
February 26th, 2008, 08:20 AM
Peggy, my nails do the same thing. I use Nailtek products and it really really helps keep them strong. Highly recommend it!
And HUGE second on that Seche Vite recommendation. I don't know what I'd do without that stuff!
Shermie Girl
February 27th, 2008, 05:13 AM
Peggy, I second the suggestion that you try Biotin, if it is compatible with your meds. It may help your nails. Maybe OPI Nail Envy for weak and delicate nails would be of help, too. And Seche is wonderful. Best top coat in the Western World, IMO. :whoohoo:
Okay, I have decided on my treatment, and so forth. I am just going back and forth over colours. I'll have my decision, soon. *Or be in a looney bin.* :gurn:

Thanks for the advice. Biotin, eh? And the Seche Vite is a top coat?
I would suggest buying the lower dosage Biotin and working your way up. I think it took me about 6 months to work up to 5000 mcgs of it per day. You can buy it it 1000 mcg capsules and then later, 5000 mcg capsules. What your body doesn't use, it flushes.
Seche Vite is a must have top coat. :lafhard:

Ladies, Seche Vite is a great price at $5.80.
ladiosaRosa
March 1st, 2008, 12:52 PM
I would like to order a bottle of Seche vite (how does one pronounce 'Seche'?)
I might add to this depending on the price of 14oz. Seche vite.
Is it important to own a bottle of Seche 'Restore' in case the vite starts to 'thicken' or get 'stringy'?
Is one able to remove Seche vite from fingernails with ordinary nail polish? Is acetone nail polish necessary?
Can I resist ordering a shiny new bottle of OPI color? :innocent: Is the Russian Collection $5.12?
justgreen
March 1st, 2008, 03:59 PM
LadiosaRosa, I love you, you are so inquisitive! The Seche is pronounced 'se-shay'. It comes off with regular nail polish remover and also the sensitive nail polish remover. I haven't ever tried it with non acetone, but I'm sure it will come off easily.
I don't have the 'restore' yet, and I've been using SV for about 4 months now. You can always pick it up later.
No you can't resist ordering a new shiny!
BBGrrl
March 1st, 2008, 06:17 PM
The 4 oz bottle is the professional size. God I hope I didn't screw up and write 14 oz. I do have brain farts often so I wouldn't doubt. I think it's somewhere close to 21 dollars for it but I do need to check again.
I don't use my restore. As long as I cap the tips of my nails when I polish I don't have a problem with shrinkage. I have never seen mine get stringy either. My seche vite has gotten very thick but I don't have any problems with it. When it gets to hard to manage or the brush starts to get exposed to air (in the bottle) I pour more from my professional size into my usable size.
I use backscrachers polish remover. There is no acetone in it. So any will work fine.
Yes, the Russian colors have the same price as the other ones.

You sweet lady, justgreen. I am sometimes a little shy about how inquisitive I have to be....it is, after all, born out of the lack of knowledge that so many other's 'around me', have (the knowledge, that is, not the lack of). But here, everyone is always so patient with my 'inquisitiveness'. I'm in heaven.
I will hold off buying the 'restore'.
You are a most lovable enabler, justy.

Oh, shoot.....my mistake typing 14 instead of 4oz. No brain farts on your part, BBGrrl. Sorry.
I'm going to hold off on the restore, but what does "cap the tips" mean?
Gottcha on the polish remover and thanks for info on the Russian colors. I'm really enabled, now.
BBGrrl.....I have edited my original 'order' post to update and finalize it: one bottle Seche vite and one bottle An Affair In Red Square.
Now I need to unplug my 'puter so I am no longer enabled. LOL.
Thank you for all your work, making this GO possible.
LadiosaRosa, Affair In Red Square, from the Russian Collection is a gorgeous red. One of my all time fave reds, evah.
Thank you so much for feedback on the color, Shermie Girl; I was wavering between An Affair in Red Square and Vodka and Caviar. After going back and forth, back and forth looking at those colors, I'm ready to commit to An Affair in Red Square.
Can you tell me if it's frosty or shimmery?
kimberlily
March 2nd, 2008, 06:23 AM
ladiosaRosa, "capping the tips" means that you paint your topcoat on the edge of your nail. Basically, you do your topcoat over the colour, then run the brush along the edge of your fingernail.
Oh, and the OPI website says that An Affair In Red Square is a "shimmering" red.
Hope that helps :)

I looked and looked and finally found the word 'shimmery' used in association with this color.....; it was right there on the actual 'Russian Collection' page but the symbol (S) was not used in the 'Try It On' page.

Grrr, I stopped in to my local (as local as 30 miles away can be considered 'local') Sally's. They still didn't have the Seche vite.
I asked if they carry the Seche 'Restore'; she said no and wouldn't order it for me if I ever wanted it. What the.....? I will save my rant for my local Sally's for my blog but.....
.....since this GO is still opened, BBGrrl.....could you find out if I can order the Seche 'Restore' as part of this GO and along with my other two items? I'd hate to need the stuff and not be able to get it or have to order it online and incur shipping.
So sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the update. :) Yay! New nail pretties, soon. I'll let you know when mine arrive.
The glitch didn't bother me and I will definitely be participating in the next GO. I already have my greedy eyes on a couple of colours that I just have to have.

I am glad you all enjoyed them. I enjoyed myself so much.
Kim I am still trying to get ahold of your last one. I am going to start calling around soon to find it. It still hasn't come in to the store I go to yet. Don't worry it will be here soon. I can find almost anything.

Kim I got it. I am so glad you had the patience to wait. It is a gorgeous color. It is identical to Lincoln park after dark but with mica shinys in it. I am so glad I finally got to see it. I will have it packed up by tonight and in the mail next time I go out. I am hoping that will be on Friday.

I love all my new colors, but can't seem to muster up enough energy to remove the Chick Flick Cherry! I even touched it up last Sunday so I could wear sandals to church that night. Gah I'm lazy! Those bottles are sitting on my dresser talking to me!

Justy you will get to them when you are tired of chick flick. Hummm mabey not...it's a good color you may neer get tired of it. Maybe they will have to wait until you run out of chick flick.
Kim I got your box out on Friday. I am so happy that I finally found that last color. Soon nakey toes won't be so nakey.

I got my box on Saturday :D That was quick! When I first opened it, I was a bit sad because the two new colours are so similar in the bottle, but they're very different when they're on the nail :D And Fireflies is so pretty!
Thank you my dear! I see a pedicure in my future ;)
